Learn the combat skills of camouflage and concealment, reach a rendezvous point with a map and compass or just the stars to guide you and get to grips with the firepower of some of the latest weapons.

And to really impress your friends, there’s a bonus in store, for when you change out of your combat kit, for parades and ceremonial occasions you’ll wear the famous "blues" – best uniform of the Royal Marines.

Training within the Bromley Marine Cadet Detachment follows a well structured, SCC approved, syllabus which takes the new entry from recruit through to Marine Cadet 1st Class. After MC1, the cadet can be promoted to Corporal and then Sergeant.

After a few weeks of attendance wearing "civvies", you will be given a "working uniform" - the latest Soldier 95 DPM lightweights. In the first 6 weeks of Recruit Training, the cadet is taught the "basics" which includes the background and the history of the regular Royal Marine service and its structure, basic drill and self discipline. Once this initial training has been completed and you pass the Recruit Exam, you will be awarded the Blue Beret and then progresses to the next level of training which includes map reading, parade drill, field craft, and weapons training furthering their knowledge and responsibilities.

Our Marine Cadets also have the opportunity to follow specialisations and visit regular Naval and Royal Marine establishments to undergo advanced training.
